These Are A Few of My Favorite Sites

December 20, 2010

These are websites that are especially entertaining when I’m procrastinating…like right now. I’ve excluded Twitter because that’s a given.

Not in any particular order:

1. Stumble Upon – I discovered most of the websites on this list through this website. I LOOOOVE IT!

2. A Softer World – A Softer World is a comic that was created by Emily Horne and Joey Comeau so that people would recognize them as important artistic geniuses.

3. Future Me – FutureMe.org is based on the principle that memories are less accurate than emails. And we strive for accuracy.

4. One Sentence – One Sentence is an experiment in brevity. Most of the best stories that we tell from our lives have one really, really good part that make the rest of the boring story worth it.

5. TED – Riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world.

6. Lifehack – This site dedicated to lifehacks. The phrase describes any hacks, tips and tricks that get things done quickly by automating, increase productivity and organizing.

7. Best of Craigslist – Pretty self explanatory…the best Craigslist postings as nominated by Craigslist readers.

8. Graph Jam – Life and pop-culture graphed for your inner geek.

9. Last Night’s Party (NSFW) – Where were you last night?

10. Food Gawker and Food Porn Daily – Click. Drool. Repeat.

11. My Life is Average – MyLifeIsAverage is a place to share your everyday mediocrity.

12. Savage Love (NSFW) – Dan Savage answers people’s very interesting questions.

13. Texts From Last Night – …the tendency to press send more easily as the night turns to morning, friends’ social habits, disgraced government officials, exes, law school, closing down bars and leaving tabs open, general debauchery and/or a common disgust for all the negativity surrounding the ‘sexting’ phenomenon.

14. Vimeo – From the beginning, Vimeo was created by filmmakers and video creators who wanted to share their creative work, along with intimate personal moments of their everyday life.

15. Google Reader – Helps me keep track of my favorite blogs.

So what are your favorite sites?
