Love At First Sight….

June 8, 2010

In case you don’t feel like watching the video:

A guy standing on a railway platform sees a girl sitting in a train.  Immediately, his life–with her, of course–flashes right before his eyes; they grow old together and are privileged enough to be the parents of the 50-something’th president… yea, I know that “something’th” is not a real word…whatever! The guy snaps back to reality and, rather than continuing to wait for his train to arrive, he decides to change his travel plans just so that he can ride the girl’s train…no pun intended.

Ok….so how many of you have ever experienced something like this? Maybe it’s my pessimistic realistic attitude but how often do you think something like this happens?

Questions for the guys:

  1. Have you ever experienced this type of ‘love at first sight?’
  2. Were you bold enough to actually follow your gut instinct or did you go home (disappointed with yourself) and make a post on Craigslist’s Missed Connections? Oh the way you spilled your heart out on that post!  One would have thought that Shakespeare’s ghost had possessed you.  For days, then weeks you hoped that the girl of your dreams would find your profession of love and come running to you…but, alas, it never happens.
  3. If you did follow your gut instinct, how long was it before the girl filed a restraining order against you?

Sidenote: Craigslist’s Missed Connections.

Thankya!! Yea, like at first sight makes sense…I would have to feel a VERY strong feeling for me to change my destination for a complete stranger.

I suspect I have.. But I'm too much of a pragmatist to switch trains just to have a chat….

Ohhhh I love that ad!!!! I'm quite the realist myself so I think the premise of the ad is little more than wishful thinking. But I like nonetheless 😀

I don't think the man actually saw all that future. I interpreted the video as that one quick decision triggering the other events. WE see his future, he just sees the girl. Maybe there's not much difference there…
