Sometimes Things Like This Make Me Not Want to Have Kids

November 19, 2007

This is getting waaaay too scary because I’m hearing these stories way too frequently. Earlier today I read about two kids–EIGHT & NINE years old–raping an 11 year old girl [Click here for the story]. Where in the world did these kids even come up with the idea to do such a thing??

Suleja: Rape victims tested HIV positive

By Francis Falola, Minna

Three under age victims of the recent rape cases recorded in Suleja have tested positive for HIV virus.

Suleja, it will be recalled, came into public glare when the wife of the Niger State Governor, Hajia Jummai Aliyu, drew the attention of the members of the National Assembly to the mutilation of the female genital organ of a nine year old primary school pupil, through rape by a 43 year old Okada rider.

The Chief Medical Officer of Suleja General Hospital, Dr. Umaru Finnin, while speaking in an interview with our correspondent in Suleja on Wednesday, disclosed that the three under age girls are part of the over 70 cases of rape reported in the hospital within the year.

According to him, “When such reports are brought to us we ensure that victims are tested for Post Exposure Prophylaxis of HIV in determining their fate and we also run Sexually Transmitted Infections test on them. The PEP test are also reviewed after 6 months in determining the authenticity. It is from the report of our tests that we were able to confirmed that three of the victims are already HIV positive”.

He described the age of the rape victims in the area as between 2 and half and 13 years old, while the age of the suspects as between 18 and 70.

I’ve said it before: If the missus & I have kids, we are dropping them off either in the village in Ife or with Family in Sri Lanka, and instill some discipline into them!!More seriously, though, I believe that this is just one of the many signs of the end times.. Scary stuff..
